| According to Goskomstat, small business of Russia comprises 843 thousand enterprises of various legal forms at the moment. 29 % of them work in the capital and the Moscow region. Today in Moscow there are about 200 thousand small enterprises (SE) steadily working, which makes approximately a quarter of the whole number of small enterprises in the country. By rate of small enterprises per 1000 inhabitants (that equals 21), Moscow has approached optimal parameters, common for the world's largest mega cities. The number of employees occupied in small businesses in the capital is about 3 million. Families factor being considered, 2/3 of the city population are related to small business. Small business of Moscow is active in all the branches of the city economy. More than 35 % of small enterprises work in the sphere of trade and public catering, more than 15 % - in construction, about 12 % are engaged in manufacturing of goods, about 10 % - in scientific sphere, general commercial service to the market is rendered by more than 8 % of SB of the city. Small enterprises work also in the sphere of consumer services, transport, communication, housing and communal services, etc. In the general city turnover of retail trade small enterprises provide 33 %, in the turnover of wholesale trade - 48 %. In total, in the city small enterprises 1574 thousand people are occupied, among them 1282 thousand are permanent staff (without taking into account part-time workers). In the whole volume of contract works in Moscow small enterprises produce 21 %. Since July 1, 2002, according to the decision of the of the Russian Federal Government from 17.05.2002, # 319 "On the authorized federal executive authority responsible for state registration of legal entities" the state registration of a legal entity on its foundation, entering changes in the General State Register of legal entities, both demanding and not demanding changes in statutory documents of the organisation; the state registration of reorganisation and liquidation of legal entities is made in territorial tax bureaus, in the departments responsible for registration of tax payers. All enterprises registered before 01.07.2002 in the Moscow Registration Chamber, which is structural division of the Moscow City Government, have been recorded in the Moscow Register. Database of the Moscow Register containing the information about more than 800 thousand enterprises can be accessed free-of-charge, and any businessman can take advantage of its information Besides, the Register of small businesses of Moscow is maintained in the capital. The Register is a list of Moscow small enterprises entitled to receive support from the part of governmental bodies of Moscow City. Today the Register database contains about 30 thousand records. |
